A year later Gary’s brother became his partner. Around the same time a national franchise moved in 3 doors down. Hard work and endurance paid off and 3 years later the franchise closed down.
In 1999 the landlord of their Old Island Highway location went bankrupt and “the Brothers” (as they were fondly referred to) lost their lease. They were given 60 days to relocate their operation. They saw this as an opportunity and decided to build their own location. It took two years to relocate the operation, not two months. Thankfully they were able to keep the old location open until the new building on Jacklin Road was complete in October 2001. The new opportunity and hard work paid off and within 6 months of opening the Jacklin Road location they bought another location on the corner of Bay and Douglas. During this time “the Brothers” were awarded Business of the Year.
In 2008 Gary became the sole owner and operator of EZ Lube Automotive Ltd. In 2010 Gary added the touchless car wash at the Jacklin Road location which has been a great addition to the business. The heart of wash is the state of the art water reclamation system installed to recycle 80% of the water used. This wash system along with their conscientious waste oil management principles was in large the reason for their being awarded the Environmental Leadership Award in 2010.
In 2012 Pennzoil 10 Minute Oil Change changed its name to Pennzoil EZ Lube and rebranded to differentiate itself in the busy market place. Recently, as of October 31, 2012 Gary decided to downsize and sold the Bay Street location. He is now focusing on the Jacklin Road location and spending more time with family, who has supported him so much along the way.
With the high performance of Pennzoil products and low-pressure technicians (we only suggest services at intervals your vehicle manufacturer recommends) we make your oil change easy.Environment Community Involvment Awards Careers Testimonials
